Steve Fosset is aiming for a landing at Salina airport. To bring you up to speed: Steve Fosset is aiming to be the first person to fly solo around the world (without stopping or refueling or physical assistance). He took off from Salina Kansas on Sunday night (Salina time). He was doing rather well and the plane seemed to be flying rather well. Earlier this morning while flying over Southeast Asia the fuel sensors indicated some serious discrepancies. He was about 2600 pounds light of fuel. Needless to say, serious issues. After passing Hawaii he has decided to continue and attempt to finish the trip. Once he reaches the West coast he can land at any air strip and that'll be safe but he need to land at Salina in order to get the record. Here's hoping he makes it.
